Jefferson County Public Library and the Jefferson County Workforce Center have partnered to launch the eTrain Mobile Training Lab, which will bring valuable career building services to the residents of Jefferson County, as well as those in Clear Creek and Gilpin Counties. Currently, there is no other mobile service like this in the metro area.
Equipped with eight computer stations, the eTrain will provide free access to many helpful databases and will be staffed by a knowledgeable instructor who can provide assistance to patrons.
“The current economic situation has had a major impact on library services and we are seeing more people turning to us to improve their technical skills and take advantage of the career-building resources we have,” said Online & Outreach Library Manager Cindy Phillips. “This collaborative effort between the Library and Workforce Center allows us to reach even more people by taking our services directly into the community.”
The eTrain will not only bring valuable resources to those in the midst of a career search, but it will support local businesses by providing growth opportunities to job seekers. This one-of-a-kind training lab serves as a classroom, an assessment center and a registration hub, meeting the plethora of needs that exist in the community.
"The eTrain is a way to support our business community with another talent development tool,” said Mary Russell, director of Jefferson County Workforce Division. “Think of it as a classroom on wheels which allows us to bring more services to more people. We are excited about the endless possibilities of this partnership with the Jefferson County Public Library."
