Jefferson County Administrator Jim Moore has announced the appointment of Judy Goebel as the county's director of Human Resources. Her first day will be April 17.
Goebel will be responsible for administering county policies and procedures relating to the recruitment and retention of employees, including compensation, health and retirement plans, employee relations, risk management and organizational development and training.
"Judy has an excellent background to guide the human resources programs for Jefferson County and its nearly 3,000 employees," Moore said. "Her enthusiasm will be an invaluable asset as we work towards achieving a culture that values collaboration, creativity, flexibility and innovation in meeting the needs of residents of our county."
Goebel has a master's degree in applied communications with an emphasis on alternative dispute resolution from the University of Denver and a bachelor's degree in business administration for Regis University. She has more than 15 years of experience in Human Resources including nine years with Air Methods Corporation, a provider of emergency medical air transportation. Most recently, Goebel was the director of human resources for Hospital Shared Services, a Denver-based company that provides out-sourced services to healthcare entities in eight states.
"I am exceedingly honored to have been selected as the human resources director," Goebel said. She is looking forward to heading the HR division and serving on the county's leadership team, where she hopes to make significant contributions and help the county meet future challenges.
