At their regular Board meeting last week the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed August 28, 2010 as Consumer Safety Awareness Day in Jefferson County and asked citizens to promote safety in their homes, neighborhoods and communities by participating in the District Attorney’s Safety Fair.
“This event is not only about crime prevention and how to keep yourself from becoming a victim of crime, it’s also about helping the community face any concerns they might have about keeping safe as they go about their daily lives.” says District Attorney Scott Storey.
