Five Head Start sites were consolidated into two sites for this schools year, the existing Wheat Ridge location and the new Russell Elementary, Arvada location (new name coming soon.)

Jefferson County Head Start is now taking enrollments for the new school year.
Head Start is a comprehensive child-focused and family-centered preschool program. Individualized services provided include: education, early childhood development, medical, dental, mental health, nutrition, family support, and parent involvement. Every effort is made to meet a child's special needs by accessing support from outside agencies if necessary.
Jefferson County Head Start serves 406 children and families in a four-county area, Jefferson, Park, Clear Creek, and Gilpin.
