Re: Hiwan Homestead Museum School Aide Trainings Scheduled

The Museum is looking for volunteers to assist with its Arts of the Tribal Southwest and Pioneer History Programs, working closely with children from throughout the metro-area.

These on-site programs have been designed to fit within the curriculum of the Jefferson County School District as well as utilize the collections at the Museum. The Arts of the Tribal Southwest Program (ATSW) is primarily intended for third graders while the Pioneer History Program (PHP) is for fourth graders.

There will be two training dates for Arts of the Tribal Southwest: Thursday, October 7, and Thursday, October 14. The trainings will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Hiwan Homestead Museum.

Training dates for Pioneer History Program are Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., beginning September 15 and running through October 20. Trainings will include four afternoon sessions on the art of spinning. All sessions will be held at Hiwan Homestead Museum; bring a lunch.

Please call Meghan McGinnes at 720-497-7650 to sign up or to request more information.
