Jefferson County Highways & Transportation will be adding asphalt shoulder paving along portions of Deer Creek Canyon Road between South Deer Creek Road and Owens Street starting the second week of July. The construction is expected to end September 1, 2006.
The improvements will provide bicycle and commuter traffic with an improved roadway for safer travel. The project includes adding four-foot paved shoulders on select sides of the 4.5 mile stretch of road.
The contractor will shut down one lane of traffic on Deer Creek Canyon Rd. throughout construction. Weekday construction work hours will be 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. While work is not scheduled to take place on the weekends, it is possible some work may be done during that time.
