The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners and Planning & Zoning division announced the winners of the Design Excellence 2006 Awards at a ceremony. These awards recognize site-specific work to encourage and promote innovative design in the development community.

The program was open to any project constructed within the last 10 years in Jefferson County and more than 30 entries were submitted. The county was pleased by the strong participation in the program this year.
Entries were judged by a professional panel whose members included representatives from the American Planning Association, American Institute of Architects, American Society of Landscape Architects and county staff, among others.
