New system allows the public to directly access and search information
Today, the Jefferson County Public Trustee's office launched a new online feature that will provide immediate access to individuals seeking information on foreclosure records. Until now, people requesting this information would need to call or visit the Public Trustee's office and a staff member would retrieve the records.
The online database will be searchable by reference numbers and addresses. It will be updated twice daily once at approximately 9:30 a.m. and again at approximately 6:30 p.m. to reflect any changes that may have occurred in the record during the day. To search for items online simply go to http://gts.co.jefferson.co.us/.
"Our goal is to provide the most efficient service possible to the citizens of Jefferson County," said Public Trustee Mary Schaefer. "This new online service will save people time and literally put the information at their fingertips."
The Public Trustee is responsible for the administration of Deeds of Trust which includes foreclosing on Deeds of Trust in the event of a loan default and releasing of Deeds of Trust when a loan has been satisfied.
