Jefferson County Assessor Jim Everson announced today that two new information kiosks have been deployed at the Mountain and South Jefferson County Sheriff Precincts.  "These two kiosks join our existing kiosk at the Lakewood City offices in providing information to the public that was previously available only at our Golden office." says Everson.  The kiosks are self contained units each with touch screen, key board and printer.  Each has a direct connection to the Assessor's Office public computer screens.

While the Assessor web page, available on the internet at http://assessor.jeffco.us, provides most information that users need, the Kiosks provide access to additional property information that is only available on the Assessor ASYST system.  In addition, mapping tools such as a radius tool that lets the user identify the owners of properties within a fixed radius from a subject property are available.  "These kiosks will be useful to persons who need to send notices to surrounding property owners of impending zoning proceedings or who need more detailed property information than that available on our web site" stated Everson,  "The Kiosks also allow the user to display County index books for property ownership research."

In addition, County Treasurer's office information is available and, coming soon, Sheriff's Office crime mapping information.  "The idea is to give customers the same sort of information resources they could access in our offices at the County Administration Building at locations that are much more convenient." says Everson, "We believe these kiosks will save citizens time and effort in getting the information they need."

The South Precinct is located at 8100 S. Shaffer Pkwy., Suite 100 in South Jeffco. The Mountain Precinct is located at 4990 Highway 73 in Evergreen.  Citizens are invited to check out the information available on the kiosks at these locations starting January 9, 2008.
