Jefferson County has named Larry Benshoof director of the county's Road & Bridge Division. He will replace Wiley Timbrook who is retiring from the county after 35 years of service.
As Road & Bridge Director, Benshoof will monitor all Road & Bridge operations in the county's districts, ensure cost effective use of county funds and budgeting for the division, prioritize road upgrade projects for the county and respond to citizen concerns.
"We are thankful to have a veteran and consummate professional such as Larry who we can tap to fill the vacancy in our Road & Bridge Division," said Assistant County Administrator and Transportation Director Nanette Neelan. "Larry's internal and external customer service skills are a key characteristic we know will serve him well in the role of director."
In commenting on his new position, Benshoof said, "I look forward to supporting the many fine employees in the Road & Bridge Division as we all work hard to build and maintain a first class road network for the citizens of Jefferson County."
Benshoof joined Jefferson County in February 1996 as the assistant director of Road & Bridge. Prior to that he worked as a project manager at Brannan Sand & Gravel Company and worked as an estimator for Flatiron Paving Company. Benshoof was also president and partner at Asphalt Services, an asphalt construction company.
