The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution establishing a temporary moratorium that prohibits the submission, acceptance, processing and approval of any application for a permit related to the operation of a use that grows, processes or dispenses marijuana; and the establishment or operation of any use involving the growing, processing or dispensing of marijuana. This moratorium commences as of the date of adoption, January 12, 2010, and shall expire on July 12, 2010, unless sooner repealed.
This moratorium applies to commercial, nonprofit, collective or cooperative uses. It does not apply to individuals who use medical marijuana legally, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
The BCC finds this resolution to be a necessity to the preservation and furtherance of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Jefferson County.
