The District Attorney’s Office is holding their second annual Community Safety
Fair on Saturday, August 28, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The District Attorney’s free Safety Fair offers safety tips and tools for the entire family — whether you are interested in staying safe at home, during recreational activities, general health and well-being, or have concerns about your kids going back to school — this is the place to be.
Information and resources abound. Take advantage of resources for car seat and driver safety, ID theft and fraud prevention, Internet safety, tools for investment and financial safety, pet and wildlife concerns, and much, much more.
This free family event includes:
- Free Electronics recycling – small fee for large items
- Free Document Shredding – no limit
- Free Outdated Prescription Round-Up
- Free Credit Reports printed and reviewed by bank officers
- Live safety presentation and demonstrations all day
- Driver safety, Internet and cell phone safety for teens
- Plus 65 booths offering free activities and giveaways
“This year we’ve added a lot of activities for kids to help round out our event,” says District Attorney Scott Storey. “We have a bicycle rodeo with free helmets for kids, DNA and fingerprint ID kits kids of all ages, McGruff the Crime Dog, Safe-2-Tell, as well as bouncy castles, crafts and K9 service dogs. We have something for everyone."
