Jefferson County’s contractor, Technology Constructors, is currently mobilized on the Myers Gulch Road over Bear Creek to repair and widen the bridge south of SH 74. This is expected to continue through September 30, 2012.
There will be a full bridge closure on Monday, August 20, 2012, starting at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until 3:30 p.m., so that the existing girder on the west side of the bridge can be removed and a new girder installed with a crane. All traffic that is northbound and southbound on Myers Gulch Road will be detoured west of the bridge via Columbine Trail and Avenue “F”.
No large semi-tractor trucks or larger trailers will be allowed through the detour due to the narrow roads and sharp turns. Alternate routes are advised using US 285 to Parmalee Gulch, or SH 74 in Evergreen. Passenger vehicles, trucks and delivery vans will be allowed through the detour.
Please note that the local area schools will also be back in session on this day. Watch for students traveling to and from school.
Be prepared to stop as traffic is staged through the detour.
