Voters who want to cast an early ballot in person for the 2012 Presidential Election have only one more week to do so. Early voting for General Election began Monday, Oct. 22 and continues until Friday, Nov. 2.
The Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder’s Office has eight early voting sites open throughout the county where Jefferson County voters can cast their ballots. Unlike voting on Election Day when voters must visit an assigned neighborhood precinct polling location, during early voting, any Jefferson County voter can visit any early voting site.
“We are continuing to encourage people to take advantage of Early Voting this year,” said Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder Pam Anderson. “Many voters like the convenience of casting their ballot early and avoiding the last minute rush on Election Day,” she added.
Early voting will take place at the following locations from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday:
- Jefferson County Administrative & Courts Facility
100 Jefferson County Pkwy. (Golden)
- Arvada Motor Vehicle
6510 Wadsworth Blvd.
- Evergreen Motor Vehicle
4990 County Hwy. 73
- Lakewood Motor Vehicle
2099 Wadsworth Blvd.
- South Jeffco Motor Vehicle
11139 Bradford Rd.
Early Voting will take place at the following locations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday:
- North - Standley Lake Library
8485 Kipling St.
- Central - Belmar Library
555 S. Allison Pkwy
- South - Columbine Library
7706 W. Bowles Ave.
Early voting will take place at all of the locations listed above on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Voters who would still like to apply for a mail-in ballot have until Oct. 30 if they would like the ballot mailed to them, or until Nov. 2 if they would like to pick the ballot up from the Jefferson County Elections Division.
“We are encouraging voters to prepare themselves prior to voting and to take advantage of some of the convenient voting options available, such as voting by mail or voting early,” added Anderson. “Remember, Election Day is not your only chance to vote. Election Day is your last chance to vote,” she said.
