Re: Jefferson County Sheriff conducting death investigation
On Friday, April 24 at 11:07 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was called to conduct a welfare check on a 22-year-old male in the 11400 block of W. Bowles Place. The caller was the male’s uncle.
The first sheriff’s deputy to arrive could not get anyone in the apartment to open the door, although he could hear movement inside. After obtaining a key from the apartment manager, the deputy was able to gain entry. Once inside, the deputy observed the body of a female lying just inside the doorway.
A male came out of a back bedroom. He appeared uninjured and stated the female was a friend. The male was immediately taken outside by deputies. He claimed to need medical attention and was taken by ambulance to Littleton Hospital. The female was not a resident of the apartment. The relationship between the male and female is unknown at this time.
Upon medical clearance of the male, Sheriff’s Office Investigators plan on questioning him in order to further the investigation. The identities of the male and female victim are not being released at this time.
