Jefferson County, Co. – On June 5, 2009 a Samuel’s Jewelry Store sales clerk at Southwest Plaza was robbed of two engagement rings. Each ring had a 1ct diamond in the setting.

The suspect, described as an Hispanic male in his twenties, approximately 6’01”, 180 lbs with black hair shaved on the sides and short spikes on top, claimed he was headed to Las Vegas to get married.  He indicated he had a large sum of cash with him and he wanted to see some wedding rings. The suspect first looked at a gold setting ring then asked to see a platinum ring.  As the female clerk was preparing to give the first ring back for comparison the suspect grabbed the ring and ran out of the mall with both rings. 

The suspect, wearing a black polo shirt and blue jeans, was seen by a witness getting into the passenger side of a newer white Nissan Maxima or Ultima with no rear license plate.

On May 31, 2009, a similarly described suspect used the same story about getting married in Las Vegas to rob the Helzberg Jewelry Store at the Flatirons Mall in Broomfield.
