On July 17, 2009, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Ryan R. Iliff, dob 081486, was arrested for the June 26 sex assault that took place near C470 and West Belleview Avenue. The assault occurred in the victim’s bedroom at about 2:30 a.m.

The victim, in her 50’s, immediately called 911. She also did not disturb any possible evidence of the crime. This, and information obtained during the on-going investigation, led the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to Iliff. Investigators believe Iliff forced his way into the victim’s home.

Iliff had lived in the area before and was arrested without incident in south Jefferson County. After being interviewed by investigators, Iliff was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. His bond will be determined by the courts at the 10:00 a.m. advisement hearing scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2009. He is currently being held on the following charges, and additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

• Sexual Assault, class 3 felony
• 1st Degree Burglary, class 3 felony
• Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, class 6 felony
