Re: Suspect arrested for attempted murder in South Jeffco

Jefferson County, Co. – Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 11300 block of S. Deer Creek Rd. at approximately 6 p.m. on August 4 after receiving a 911 call reporting a disturbance and subsequent shooting.   Deputies quickly arrived in the area and located a man who claimed he had just been “shot at” by another man. The victim told investigators that he’s a contract employee for an insurance company and that he was in the area investigating an insurance claim involving the suspect.  The victim was conducting surveillance from a vantage point off of the suspect’s property when the suspect exited his residence and allegedly hollered at him.  A short time later the suspect stepped from the residence with a small caliber firearm and began firing the weapon in the general direction of the victim.  The victim ran from the area and called 911.  Although several bullet fragments were recovered from the backpack that the victim was wearing, the victim was not injured.    The suspect, identified as Marshall C. Lawson (dob 060582), was arrested at his home and booked at the Jefferson County Detention Facility for Criminal Attempt First Degree Murder.  Lawson is being held on $150,000 bond.
