Jefferson County, Co. – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 23000 block of Kiowa Rd. on August 23 after receiving a 911 call concerning the discovery of two bodies inside of a rental property by the landlord. The landlord told authorities that the current renters, a 27-year-old male and a 27-year-old female, had been living together in the home for several months.

The landlord had recently received “notice” that the couple would be moving out.  The landlord was at the home to show a prospective renter the property when the bodies were discovered inside. 

The preliminary investigation indicates that the deaths are the result of a murder/suicide. Both decedents sustained gunshot wounds. It appears as though the male decedent is responsible for both deaths.

Names are being withheld pending notification of family.
