Jefferson County, Co. – On July 6, 2011 at about 11:45 a.m., deputies responded to the 7700 block of Red Fox Drive in Evergreen in reference to a stabbing. A 43-year-old woman had been stabbed by her 15-year-old son at the family home. The suspect fled from the home after the stabbing.
An extensive search of the area began and a reverse 911 call to about 580 homes went out in a one mile radius of the residence. The recorded message asked for residents to be on the lookout for a juvenile male fitting the suspect’s description, and to be aware that he was considered possibly armed and dangerous. After almost 4 hours of searching, he was found in the neighborhood and taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was booked through the jail and transported to Mount View Youth Detention Facility where he is being held without bond on suspicion of 1st degree attempted murder, 1st degree assault and felony menacing. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
