Sheriff Invites Jeffco Seniors to Free Safety Luncheon
In an effort to reach out to seniors in the community who may be more at-risk for becoming victims of crime, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will host a senior safety luncheon on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. The luncheon is free of charge and is open to Jefferson County residents.
Sheriff Ted Mink, District Attorney Scott Storey and Patrol Chief Jeff Shrader will be on-hand to share information about senior exploitation and local law enforcement efforts. Investigator Chris Nelson of the Sheriff's Office will present a lecture on identity theft with information on how to prevent and recover from this pervasive crime.
Other local community groups, including AARP/Elder Watch, the Senior Resource Center and West Metro Fire Rescue, will provide additional safety information.
