Jefferson County, Co. – The suspect wanted for attempted child abduction in Jeffco turned himself in to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to explain his actions.  The 18-year-old man turned himself in after seeing a picture of him on the news.

He told investigators that he was attempting to get a 13-year-old boy to go to his ex-girlfriend’s house and ask her to come outside to talk to him. The boy did not know what the man wanted and was afraid the man was attempting to abduct him. The boy ran into his home and told his mother, who came out and took a photograph of the man and the car before he sped away. 

The description of the man and his car fit the description of a suspect in two recent attempted abductions in Arvada. Arvada detectives interviewed the man and do not believe he is a suspect in those cases.

The Sheriff’s Office asks citizens to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
