Jefferson County, Co. – On November 28, 2012 at about 11:15 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic violence incident involving a man and a woman in the cab of a U-Haul truck in south Jeffco.
When deputies arrived, the truck was gone, and soon after was reported to be in the Morrison area. It then returned to south Jeffco where deputies stopped the truck at the intersection of Quincy and Eldridge. The female got out of the truck, and the suspect, later identified as Jarrett Cooper Stoner (120285), took off in the truck east bound into a nearby neighborhood where he then rammed a deputy’s patrol car head-on. Stoner continued east into Denver, where he collided with two more cars after running a stop sign at Sheridan Blvd. and Quincy Ave. The drivers of the two cars and the deputy were not injured.
Stoner then continued east about a block and then abandoned the U-Haul truck and ran to a nearby 7-11 where he attempted to steal a truck. The occupants of the truck did not cooperate, and after a brief struggle, were able to detain Stoner until he was placed into custody. The U-Haul truck was determined to be stolen out of Denver.
Stoner is being booked into the Jefferson County Jail for a variety of felony and misdemeanor charges. He will have his first court appearance at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2012. A mugshot of Stoner that was taken in October, 2012 is below.
