Jefferson County, CO. – On January 14, 2013, at about 8:00 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary at the Rock Rest Lodge, located at 16005 Mt Vernon Road in Golden. Entry was made into the restaurant/bar at 3:25 a.m. by using a ladder to climb onto the roof. The ladder belonged to the Rock Rest and was by a shed outside. Once on the roof, the three suspects moved a large air conditioning unit to the side, revealing a hole in the roof big enough for the suspects to climb down into the bar.
Surveillance cameras inside revealed that the suspects, who wore hooded sweatshirts, partial masks, hats, and gloves, used an angle grinder that they brought with them to cut through an ATM. Once they removed the money they entered a cash office, where they used the grinder to cut through a large safe. Several thousand dollars was stolen.
Below are three surveillance photos of the suspects. Anyone who may have information regarding this crime is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612.
