On October 20, 2006 at 1:35 p.m., Timothy Radke, DOB 08-21-72, was found hanging in a shower stall at the Jefferson County Detention Facility.  A sheriff?s deputy discovered Radke during a walk-through check of the minimum security housing module where Radke was assigned. 

The Sheriff?s deputy immediately began administering CPR and called for additional medical assistance into the module.  Radke was transported to Lutheran Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3.55 a.m. on October 21, 2006. 

The death is currently under investigation by the Sheriff?s Office; all indications are that Radke died of an apparent suicide.  The Jefferson County Coroner?s Office will determine the exact cause and manner of death at the completion of their investigation.

Radke was arrested on October 9, 2006 for the following Lakewood charges:

•  Second degree burglary
•  Felony theft
• False information
