On Friday, January 12 the Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office, Douglas County Sheriff?s Office and the U. S. Secret Service made an arrest concerning counterfeit $100 bills.  The bills were being produced with a computer at a residence in Douglas County.

A Dairy Queen employee, working the drive-thru window, refused to accept a $100 and $20 bill for the food order.  The suspect finally paid for the food with a legitimate $5 bill. The employee noticed the fake money and wrote down the license plate of the suspect?s car and reported it to the police.  

Investigators from the Jeffco Sheriff?s Office followed the money trail to an address in Douglas County.  During the execution of a search warrant, investigators found 46 counterfeit $100 bills.  They also found 68 ?washed? blank $1 bills and a $100 template in the computer printer tray.

Ryan D. Morgan, DOB 011878, was arrested without incident and booked into the Jefferson County Jail.  He was released from custody after posting $1,000 bond in real money.

Morgan is facing the following charges:

Ø      Forgery

Ø      Criminal possession of a forged instrument

Ø      Criminal possession of forgery devices
