On the evening of April 15, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a 911 call from a home located at 5980 Dunraven Court, north of Golden, and arrested Nancy Bautista (dob 011854) for attempted murder.
A family member called 911 at 9:40 p.m., to get help for Nancy Bautista's husband. The emergency call was made from a cellular phone after family members discovered that the phone lines in the home had been disconnected. Deputies learned that Bautista had stabbed her husband in the back with a large kitchen knife and allegedly unplugged the residential phone line in an effort to prevent the victim from calling for help. According to the victim, Bautista waited nearly 90 minutes before reporting the stabbing to other family members, who in turn called the authorities.
Bautista was arrested and charged with criminal attempt first degree murder, first degree assault and domestic violence. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.
