Jefferson County, Colorado ? Deputies were dispatched to a home in the 7700 block of W. Glasgow Pl. at 12:40 a.m. on January 26^th after dispatchers received a 911 call concerning a disturbance.  The caller indicated that a woman at that location had been ?hit? and was already enroute to the hospital.   Deputies arrived at the residence and interviewed a large group of witnesses who remained at the scene.  Deputies learned that an adult male and an adult female began arguing shortly after midnight and at some point the male displayed a handgun and fired it at the woman, hitting her once.  The victim and the suspect had both left the residence before deputies arrived. 

The woman was taken to Littleton Adventist Hospital where she was treated for a single gunshot wound to her shoulder.  The suspect was contacted by law enforcement officials via the telephone and he eventually turned himself in to sheriff?s deputies early Sunday morning.  The suspect is identified as Erik Shawn Leo Tafoya (DOB 8-13-81).  Tafoya was booked at the Sheriff?s Office for Criminal Attempt First Degree Homicide and First Degree Assault.  The suspect was released after posting $50,000 bond.
