Jeffco Open Space offers semi-primitive, tent-only, walk-in camping by permit at White Ranch Park (northwest of Golden) and Reynolds Park (southeast of Conifer). Camping in these two parks is semi-primitive—no vehicles, trailers or RVs. For other camping opportunities in Jefferson County, see link at the bottom of this page.

Camping permits (advance or onsite) are free and valid for a maximum stay of 3 consecutive nights. Campground stays are limited to no more than a total of 6 nights within a 30-day period. Permits cannot be obtained online; see instructions below.
Advance permits are recommended for holiday weekends and for groups such as Scouts and clubs. These permits can be obtained up to 3 months in advance; however, advance permits cannot be obtained less than 3 days before camping.
Jeffco Open Space offers walk-in, tent campers the option of obtaining a camping permit at White Ranch or Reynolds Parks upon arriving at the trailhead.
These free onsite permits are first-come, first-served, and are valid up to 3 consecutive nights, space permitting. Campground stays are limited to no more than a total of 6 nights within a 30-day period. Instructions on how to obtain an on-site permit are posted on the camping kiosks. The permit is for the day the campsite is needed upon arrival, not for following days.
