Jefferson County Open Space provides ample opportunity for visitors who like to ride horses and other pack animals. The system features miles of trails, campgrounds equipped with hitching posts and corrals and parks that offer reserved parking. See our Activity Guide for parking availability.
Equestrians also participate as volunteers as Park Patrollers and in our trails co-op to promote a safe, enjoyable experience for all park visitors.
All of our parks, except the Lookout Mountain Nature Center and Preserve and Mount Galbraith Park, are open to horses and pack animals. Equestrian-friendly campsites are located within White Ranch and Reynolds parks. See our camping page for more details.
