Each summer since 1975, Jeffco Open Space has employed County youth in the management and maintenance of Open Space Parks, an experience that develops a positive work and stewardship ethic. The nationally acclaimed Trail Stewardship Team (TST) helps to maintain and improve natural surface trails, mitigate noxious weeds and restore natural areas each summer. Each TST worker can expect to cover 200 miles in eight weeks by hiking to and from the job site for trail maintenance.
Eligible youth must be between the ages of 14 to 18, reside in Jefferson County, be in good health, punctual, prepared with assigned gear each day, able to follow verbal direction and have transportation to and from the Open Space Administrative Office at 700 Jefferson County Parkway, Golden, CO 80401. Employees must be able to work from June 14 to August 4 with no more than two absences.
