• Trail Stewardship Team Workplace Regulations

  • The Work Day

We meet in the Jeffco Open Space parking lot in Golden every day at 8 a.m. Everyone is expected to be on time and have all their personal equipment. We will travel to the work site at approximately 8 a.m. and leave the work site at 4 p.m., arriving back in the Jeffco Open Space parking lot at approximately 4:30 p.m.

    • If you miss the bus in the morning, you will not be able to work and, as a result, will not be paid for that day.
    • Everyone will be transported by the TST bus only. No personal vehicles will be taken to the work sites.

A worker who fails to bring all the required items on the personal equipment list may not be allowed to work, meaning there will be no pay for that day.

    • Jeffco Open Space will provide T-shirts, which must be worn daily. T-shirts must be neat and unaltered.
    • Hard hats will be issued on the first day of work and must be worn during all work projects. All hard hats and Jeffco Open Space equipment must be turned in at the end of the program.
    • Compensation for lost tools will be made by the person or persons responsible for the tool at the time of loss and before receiving a final paycheck.

Only two days of absence will be considered excused during the program. Additional absences must be approved in advance by the program supervisor. The employee risks possible termination for any unexcused absences.

    • Schedule personal appointments for times outside the scheduled work day. Schedule vacation time before or after the program.

Time paid for time worked only. Paychecks will be handed out consistent with county adopted, seasonal payday procedures.

    • All equipment must be returned before ending employment with the County. This includes termination and resignation.
    • Final paychecks will be issued after all County-issued equipment is returned, consistent with the county procedure of distributing paychecks bi-weekly.

An employee’s behavior shall at all times be conducted in a manner that contributes to a positive working environment. No forms of harassment will be tolerated. Violation of work place rules may result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
