    Tour Guides:

    Presenting guided tours of the museum and interpreting local history with visitors.

    History Educators:

    Presenting interpretive programs to school groups. Subjects can include Colorado Pioneer History, Native Americans etc.

    Exhibit/Curatorial Volunteers:

    Help plan and install exhibits and take care of artifacts.

    By Volunteering You Can:

    • Meet new people in the Evergreen and surrounding communities
    • Learn the history of the area
    • Have fun
    • Assist the museum in its day-to-day operations
    • Receive opportunities to travel to other museums, attend the annual volunteer luncheon and other events not available to the public
    • Learn valuable new job skills
    • Share your enthusiasm for history with children and adults


    Volunteers must meet the following requirements:  

    • Complete the Open Space and Hiwan Museum Volunteer training.
    • Commit to 40 hours of volunteer work per year.
    • Possess good people skills and provide own transportation
