Trails

Jefferson County Open Space Parks offer 210 miles of trails, providing a wealth of experiences for outdoor enthusiasts of all types and ability levels. Our trails range from paved paths within an urban setting (Crown Hill Park) to natural surface trails extending into the farthest reaches of more remote and rugged parks.

Join us in building and restoring trails on our weekend Trail Days and Mini-Crew events on summer weekday evenings.
Trail Conditions
Trail conditions can vary not only from park to park but within each park and are subject to change rapidly with Colorado's ever-changing weather. In general:
- North-facing slopes stay muddier and snow-packed longer.
- South-facing slopes dry out more quickly.
Estimate 10 degrees colder than the Denver metro area for every 1,000-feet elevation gain.
Our trail closures hotline, 303-271-5975, provides information on trail closures and openings. We also update Facebook and Twitter with field reports and photos.
