Educational Programs at Hiwan
The museum's hands-on exhibits are always a favorite of young visitors and the young at heart! Other exhibits feature quilts made by Hiwan's own Busy Bee crafters, special collections and loans from other museums.

General Information
Local history programs for school children are presented in the mornings at the museum. Unscheduled visitors may tour the facilities Tuesdays through Sundays, noon to 5:00 p.m. and in the summer from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After-school programs involve children in crafts and activities under the guidance of talented volunteers.
Professionally staffed with Open Space personnel, Hiwan Homestead Museum relies on members of the Jefferson County Historical Society for volunteer programs and exhibit assistance.
Special tours and programs may be arranged. Groups of ten or more should make reservations by calling 720-497-7650. Special tours for the blind, the deaf, the physically challenged, the aged and the mentally impaired are also available by reservation.
Reservations are suggested and donations are requested for all programs. A minimum $15 donation is requested for Teas with JCHS members receiving a $3 discount.
