Multiple Apex Park Volunteer Days Planned for Flood Repairs

Jeffco Open Space has announced multiple dates for volunteers to join the recovery effort at Apex Park. In addition to specific Apex Park recovery projects, Trail Training Projects are available and include field-based training and cover basic aspects of trail maintenance including trail anatomy, water management, and erosion control. Participants will practice skills at a park after small group discussions. Specific topics covered will depend on the work location. Trail Training Projects will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning January 28, and will take place from 9-3pm. There is a limit of 10 volunteers per project.

Locations for the Trail Training Projects are targeted at Apex Park. All events are weather dependent. Conditions may require these events to be relocated to other flood damaged sites such as White Ranch Park and North Table Mountain Park when appropriate. Volunteers who register should monitor email messages related to any cancelations due to weather.
