Van Bibber Park offers visitors a get-away from the neighborhood as well as a home and migration stop for wildlife. The Van Bibber Creek wetlands provides habitat for waterfowl, amphibians and insects, which can be viewed from an observation deck. Visitors enjoy mountain vistas from soft-surface trails that meander through open meadows and a 1.5-mile concrete trail that travels the length of the park.

The fertile soil in and around Van Bibber Park became the settling place for many homesteaders between the 1850s and 1870s. The farming community of Arvada was born. Crops included wheat, oats, corn, hay, and strawberries. Today bikers, hikers, equestrians and in-line skaters can reap the bounty of a peaceful escape from the suburban life.
