      Bear Creek swelled its banks with the historic rainfall of the mid-September 2013 storms. The flooding caused widespread damage to Lair o' the Bear Park.
    • Open Space Anniversary Video
      Recently supporters of Denver Mountain Parks, Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) and Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) gathered at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Visitor Center to celebrate a century of protected places to play.
    • September 2013 Floods
      Heavy rain and flooding impacted Jefferson County Open Space Parks. This video shows the effects of the storm on Lair o’ the Bear, Matthews/Winters, North Table Mountain and White Ranch Parks.
    • The Peaks to Plains Trails
      Recreation advocates testify to the overflowing support for a new 6-mile trail along Clear Creek. Great Outdoors Colorado awarded funding to this project on June 19. The trail will be completed by 2016, with 4 miles in Jefferson County and 2 miles in Clear Creek County.
