K-9s and 4-H-The Dog Project in Action

The project is designed for youth ages 8 to 18 who are interested in learning more about dog care, obedience, training, rally and showmanship. Some agility training is thrown in for fun! Participants can compete in 4-H dog shows across the state, at the county fair and at the state fair if they qualify. It's a great way for youth to become closer to their pet and acquire vital dog-ownership skills.

Youth who are currently enrolled in 4-H can join the Dog Project for no additional cost. One group currently meets in the Conifer area, and another is being established at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden. Learn more at http://www.extension.colostate.edu/jefferson/4h/4h.shtmlExternal Link Icon or by contacting Lisa Sholten at 303-271-6620 or lsholten@jeffco.us. The registration fee is $40.
