Notice Icon 50x50Thank you for your interest in helping us reclaim/rebuild our trails and clean up after the flooding. Staff is working to assess our entire trail system for damage. Next, we’ll determine an approach to return our system to normal as much as possible before winter is upon us. Reclamation will likely continue into Spring 2014.

Jeffco Open Space will begin offering Trails Training Projects in January. The trainings will provide a solid foundation for volunteers to help Jeffco Open Space crews reopen trails at Apex Park and other areas. After completing a Trails Training Project, attendees will be better prepared to hit the ground running during volunteer Trail Days.

A kickoff event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 at the Jeffco Open Space offices to cover the basics of trail construction and design in a classroom setting. Refreshments will be served from 5:30-6pm, with the meeting beginning at 6pm. It is not a prerequisite for the Trails Training Projects.

Beginning January 28 and throughout February, Trail Training Projects will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Space is limited to 10 volunteers per session. All events will be subject to conditions and will take place in the field. Please register through EventBrite (link below).

Please fill out the form below so that we can let you know of upcoming projects. Or visit our Eventbrite registration page. We appreciate your interest and support of Jeffco Open Space and your willingness to help by volunteering your time.
