The Planning Commission approved the Comprehensive Master Plan on January 27, 2010.

Regulations Updated
On October 13, 2009, the Board of County Commissioners adopted revisions to the Land Development Regulation, the Zoning Resolution, the Roadway Design and Construction Manual and the Policy and Procedure Manual. The revisions to the regulations, crafted by the Planning and Zoning Division, were presented to the Planning Commission on September 23, 2009. The Planning Commission removed the proposed regulations related to Short Term Vacation Rentals, made some minor revisions to the remainder of the regulations and forwarded a recommendation of approval to the Board of County Commissioners.

Staff proposed these regulation amendments in order to consolidate and clarify regulations, provide flexibility, and improve citizen awareness of development applications. Below is a listing of some of the key components of the newly adopted regulations:
• Added a notification requirement for the Site Development Plan Process.
• Clarified the notification requirement for the Grading Permit Process.
• Change the Zoning Violation penalties to align with State Statutes.
• Gave flexibility to Staff in determining the guarantee amount for a Grading Permit.
• Allow the Zoning Administrator to update the Flood Plain Overlay District maps.
• Allow Brewpubs and Vintner’s Restaurants in the Commercial-One (C-1) zone district.
• Allow Recycling Transfer Stations as a special use in the Agricultural-Two (A-2) and the Agricultural-Thirty Five (A-35) zone districts.
