About This Update
On January 27, 2010, the Jefferson County Planning Commission adopted the Jefferson County Comprehensive Master Plan. This Plan consolidated the general policies in the existing community plans into one document. Now Planning & Zoning is incorporating the community plans into the Comprehensive Master Plan. Plans currently being worked on are the North Plains, Central Plains, and South Jeffco Community Plans. Please go to the main Community Plan Updates page for more information on the Central Plains and South Jeffco Community Plans.
The North Plains Community Plan was adopted on May 10, 1989, making it 21 years old.
For the North Plains Community Plan update, public meetings start in June and run through January. After those meetings, the draft plan would be finalized, sent out for public review, and then taken to the Planning Commission for decision.
