Evergreen Area Community Plan
The Planning Commission adopted the Evergreen Area Community Plan on October 12, 2005.
Originally adopted in February of 1987, the plan is used as a guide for development in the Evergreen Area. The area has seen many changes since the original plan adoption, including an increase in population, an increase in the number of commercial businesses, and the expansion of Highway 74.
To ensure the plan recommendations address the changing needs of the community, the Board of County Commissioners allocated funds to update the Evergreen Area Community Plan in December of 2001. Starting in April 2002, the Evergreen area citizens worked with Jefferson County staff to update the existing community plan that serves as a guide to future development. Several open meetings were held to determine where and how to change recommendations in the existing plan.
