North Plains Community Plan coverNorth Plains Community Plan
The North Plains Community Plan is the result of a cooperative planning endeavor by the community, Arvada, Broomfield, Golden, Superior, Westminster, and Jefferson County. It was adopted by Jefferson County in March 1989. In December 2001, the Board of County Commissioners directed staff to update the North Plains Community Plan. The update would reflect changes to the Plan area and land use recommendations due to various issues. The Plan area has been reduced to roughly one half it's original size due primarily to annexations. The 1989 Plan covered 44,376 acres and the revised Plan is roughly 22,500 acres.

The update to the plan has since been put on hold. This is due to recent discussions surrounding the potential Jefferson Parkway alignment. Please check Planning and Zoning's Web site periodically for informational updates.
