The Board of County Commissioners directed staff on January 16, 2002, to proceed with a comprehensive revision to the plans and regulations governing telecommunications in unincorporated Jefferson County.

The project will be carried out in a three-part process:

1. The Phase One process (completed) sought to clarify elements of the Zoning Resolution. It was intended to be low-controversy. Revisions were proposed to Sections 2, 6 and 15 of the Zoning Resolution.

2. Phase Two (completed) consists of comprehensive revisions to the Telecommunications Land Use Plan and Zoning Resolution with regard to Personal Wireless Service Facilities, Amateur Radio and other telecommunications subjects that are of high priority but of low to medium controversy.

3. Phase Three will consist of comprehensive revisions to the Telecommunications Land Use Plan and Zoning Resolution with regard to all telecommunications issues including high power facilities.
