Jeffco Human Services Nationally Recognized Through White House Nomination

Jefferson County’s Human Services and its employees are always rising to the challenges of meeting the needs of our most vulnerable community members. Its passionate, committed staff supports our community in every way possible. It truly is an award-winning agency and a leader in human service work throughout the country.

Recently, the department was recognized nationally for its great work with an announcement from the White House regarding its Director Lynn Johnson. Johnson has been nominated by President Donald J. Trump to a position within his administration. If confirmed, she would serve as Assistant Secretary for the Administration for Children and Families at the Department of Health and Human Services. This appointment is pending confirmation by the United States Senate.

“This high honor brings with it the opportunity to continue the amazing work we all do in Jefferson County; to continue to stop unnecessary rules and regulations that get in the way of success for our families. Impact is not about what we do, how many people we serve, how long we’ve been in existence, or how far our service area reaches. It is about whether we achieved positive change and whether it lasts. Impact does not happen by accident but through dedication and rigorous attention to high standards. That is why I am so proud of this agency, and every staff member,” said Johnson.

For more information regarding Johnson’s nomination, please see the news release from the White House.
