Review of Jeffco's 2016 Slash Program

Did you make it to one of the slash collections sites this year? Jeffco citizens were able to drop off slash, which is tree debris, at numerous locations every weekend from May 21 to November 12, except July 4.

As this year’s collection comes to a close, it’s time to review the tremendous success of this year’s collection efforts.

Jeffco citizens dropped off 5,277 loads of slash. 159, 40 cubic yard roll-off containers of wood chips were hauled to the compost yard; if these containers were lined up end to end, they would span almost a mile. That amounts to 31,662 cubic yards of collected slash this year, which is enough to fill a football field piled twenty feet high.

So how does this compare to last year? Info here about 2015 to 2016 numbers.
