  • Influenza

The best way to prevent seasonal influenza, or the "flu," is to get a flu vaccination each fall.

The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness and, at times, can lead to death. In an effort to better protect the public, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is now recommending all children 6 months of age and older receive an annual influenza vaccine.

    Getting a Flu Shot

Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) provides flu shots by appointment only at our Lakewood clinic, 645 Parfet Street, Lakewood, CO 80215. Please call 303-239-7078 for an appointment or more information.

There is an administrative fee of $21.68 per vaccine. Vaccine fees for adults and children vary depending on the vaccine requested and insurance coverage. Service will not be denied due to inability to pay for any childhood vaccine, and fees may be waived. We can bill for Medicaid, Medicare, CHP+, and a number of private insurances, please check when registering.

Immunizations protect individuals and the community from vaccine preventable diseases. Please view the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment web page for a complete schedule of recommendations including those for adolescents and older adults.
