The JCPH Food Protection and Safety Program works to prevent foodborne illness outbreaks and assure that Jefferson County citizens and visitors are provided with safe food. Staff routinely inspects food service operations, such as restaurants, delicatessens, school cafeterias and retail markets to ensure compliance with Colorado Retail Food Establishment Rules and Regulations.
Retail Food Establishment License Fees are Increasing for 2017
According to Centers for Disease Control foodborne illnesses cause an nearly 3,000 deaths in the U.S. each year and more than 48 million illnesses (roughtly 1 in 6 Americans) per year. The JCPH Food Safety Program works to reduce incidents of foodborne illness in the County.
