    Vacancies on the Jefferson County Planning Commission

    The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners is looking for applicants for the county’s Planning Commission.

    This commission consists of volunteer members that make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on a wide variety of land use applications that include rezonings, special uses, vacations, special district service plans and subdivision plats. The commission also updates and adopts the county's Comprehensive Master Plan.

    Planning Commission members review staff reports and presentations, make physical site inspections to all sites that are on the meeting agendas, review regulations, attend pre-meetings and attend all Planning Commission public hearings. Commission members receive a stipend of $20 per hearing and $20 per case.

    The Planning Commission generally meets each Wednesday, except the third Wednesday of the month, at the Jefferson County Administration and Courts Facility, 100 Jefferson County Parkway.
